Automated Business Designs, Inc. (ABD), developer of the Ultra-Staff staffing software, received national recognition as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Development Center-Chicago, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). Certification by the WBENC provides ABD with a unique range of resources that will enhance their business and their ability to serve their clients.

Founded in 1982 by President and Chief Operating Officer Terri Roeslmeier, ABD has successfully produced exceptional staffing and recruiting software that is customized to fit the front and back office needs of numerous lines of business. Under Terri’s leadership, ABD has gained a reputation for excellence through its Ultra-Staff software.

“After 33 years as a woman-owned business, a decision was made to apply for WBENC status,” said Terri. “We believe the partnerships we have cultivated with our customers will be enhanced by our WBENC status. We work with many staffing companies that would benefit from a WBENC partner when responding to proposals for their business. Any way that we can help our customers succeed is of interest to us. It’s a great alignment for a service-centric company. We develop fantastic software for the staffing industry, but it is our service that truly sets us apart.”

The national standard of certification implemented by the WBENC is a meticulous process, reviewing each business with in-depth analysis and on-site inspection. In the end, the WBENC can confirm and assert without a doubt that the recipient of the certification is majority owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or women. Many applicants fail to meet the WBENC’s thorough appraisal process.

WBENC’s certified women business enterprises are often highly ranked among their own industries. Five certified women business enterprises earn annual revenues in excess of $1 billion and the average WBENC business earns $7.7 million in annual revenue. Their members have longevity, rich expertise, and an undeniable impact on the economy.
